Anna Levin
Anna's journey into movement began with a deep love for dance. She studied modern dance and ballet, eventually choreographing and performing professionally in Toronto, New York, and Chicago. While studying at Purchase College, SUNY, she discovered the transformative power of Pilates—a method that not only helped her recover from a lower back injury but also became her passion and career.
After settling in Amsterdam, Anna played a key role in developing several studios, including Studio Annamora, The Movement Practice, and Smartbody Studio. From 2006 to 2022, she served as a master trainer and assistant director for the Smartbody Studio Teacher Training Program, mentoring aspiring instructors.
With extensive experience in Pilates for women, Anna specializes in pregnancy Pilates, postpartum recovery, and Pilates for menopause. She has trained with leading experts in the field, including Carolyne Anthony (Pilates for Diastasis and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Pilates for Menopause) and Ashley Steele (Pilates Through Pregnancy – BASI). Her expertise allows her to support women at every stage of life, helping them regain strength, stability, and confidence in their bodies.
Today, Anna’s teaching extends beyond Pilates to include Strength and Mobility training, as well as specialized classes in pelvic floor and diastasis rehabilitation. Her mission is to empower individuals through movement, fostering strength, flexibility, and holistic well-being.

I sit with Anna for one-on-one Pilates sessions and I really recommend it to everyone. I do a lot of strength training myself, but Anna immediately saw where my areas for improvement lay. Mobility and stability are specifically addressed during the session and after each session you will feel great: you stand more upright and you feel better in your body. As a physiotherapist I can say that Anna is very skilled and professional. She knows what she is talking about and immediately sees what needs to be worked on. proper pilates
I was on vacation to Amsterdam and wanted to try out a Pilates private class. Eventually selected Pilates Practice because I wanted a more 'classical'-focused studio rather than a high-tempo, HIIT-inspired place. I worked with Anna for my 1h session and enjoyed every moment of it. From her cues and the options she offered, I could tell that she's very experienced. I walked away from the session feeling super refreshed and lighter in my steps, which is appreciated after a long plane flight!
